Honey Soy Chicken Wings

All kinds of chicken wings abound in the culinary world- fried and crispy, buffalo drenched, spicy and savory… the list goes on. In this best chicken wing recipe, I decided to celebrate the ooey gooey kind of sticky sweet and savory that makes even the most sophisticated of adults lick their fingers unabashedly. The ingredients are easy to find, the technique easy to follow. The results? Just about the most addictive chicken wings your family and friends will ever taste.

Serves 4

Ingredients

2 1/4 lbs chicken wings, rinsed under cold water and thoroughly drained

1/2 cup honey

1/4 cup dark soy sauce

1/4 cup plum sauce

1/2 teaspoon sesame oil

1/2 teaspoon sea salt

Method

Preheat the oven to 375 degrees. Line a baking sheet with aluminum foil.

In a large bowl, mix together the chicken wings, honey, soy sauce, plum sauce and sesame oil until thoroughly combined. Place the wings on the baking sheet. Sprinkle the salt evenly over the wings. Bring up the aluminum foil so that it covers the wings in the middle. Make sure the wings are semi covered by the aluminum so they don’t dry out in the oven.

Bake in the oven for approximately 45 minutes until lightly golden. Remove the chicken from the oven and toss into a wok on high heat. Sauté the wings for a few minutes until the sauce thickens and appears slightly sticky. Serve warm.
