Frothy Brandy Milk- Spiked Milk Drinks
As a kid, I used to stay up way past my bedtime, hiding under huge tables at dinner parties my parents hosted. One of the most fun parts of my naughtiness was getting to taste dishes and drinks that only the adults were allowed. I remember taking sips of all kinds of drinks only to be stopped by one of my parents or my grandfather who caught me hiding under a tablecloth. Many of the popular drinks in Asia included spiked milk drinks which is why as an adult, I always play around with new creations until settling with one like this Frothy Brandy Milk. You know that old stereotype about how Asians can’t take our alcohol? Well, for some of us that’s true. For others, not so much (have you seen Koreans drink?). For someone like me, an alcohol lightweight, I love getting in my calcium while I’m having my fun with sweet liquors like Brandy or Grand Marnier. Add in a little vanilla ice cream and you’ve got the best “healthy” cocktail ever!

Serves 4

Ingredients
2 2/3 cups skim milk
1 cup vanilla bean ice cream (left a room temperature for about 10 minutes)
2 heaping tablespoons confectioners’ sugar
8 to 12 tablespoons brandy (adjust for lighter or heavier flavor)

Method

Using a cocktail shaker, blend half of the ingredients, shaking vigorously until thoroughly mixed. Pour into martini glasses. Repeat with the other half of the ingredients. Serve immediately.
