Best Bruschetta Recipes- Brie & Caramelized Onion Bruschetta

This party favorite is a marriage of two ingredients I adore- Brie cheese and sweet onions. These bruschetta are amongst the first to run out at gatherings. Crisp French baguette sliced thinly contrasts beautifully with the warm oozing Brie and honeyed onions. Sweet, creamy and crunchy all in one.

Makes 12-15 Slices

Ingredients

3/4 large white onion

2 teaspoons olive oil

2 tablespoons honey (or substitute 2 teaspoons sugar)

1/2 teaspoon salt

1 package Brie (substitute with Camembert)

Half loaf of French baguette, sliced thinly

Method

Slice the onion into thin strips (julienned).

Heat the olive oil on medium high heat in a pan and sauté the onions. Add honey and salt; sauté until onions are wilted and golden brown; set aside.

Preheat the oven to high broil. Slice the Brie into 1/4 inch-thick slices. Arrange baguette slices on non-stick baking pan; layer a slice of Brie then top with a spoonful of caramelized onions.

Broil in oven for approximately 3 minutes or until golden brown. Serve immediately.
