Healthy Chocolate Milkshake

I’ve always strongly believed in listening to our body’s natural cravings and satisfying them properly to avoid unhealthy binges. About a week before “that time of the month” I often find myself craving chocolate and milk- a signal that my body is needing extra calcium. Instead of reaching for calorie and sugar laden desserts, I created this decadent-tasting Healthy Chocolate Milkshake where I used ripe bananas for natural sweetness and ZERO added sugar. Antioxidant-rich dark chocolate pieces not only feeds my craving but does a world of good for my heart, brain and mood. All this combined with phyto-estrogen rich soy milk and you’ve got a power milkshake that is one of the healthiest drinks you can have but also tastes every bit as diabolical as a traditional ice-cream milkshake.

Serves ~4 small glasses or 2 large glasses

Ingredients

3 cups soy milk (use any milk you prefer)

1 ripe banana

3/4 cup dark chocolate pieces, roughly chopped

2 tablespoons flax and/or chia seeds

1 cup ice

Method

Place all the ingredients in a blender and blend until smooth. Serve immediately.
