Easy Caramel Sauce
This super easy caramel sauce is so versatile. You can use it as a drizzle on top of ice cream or as a dipping sauce for a fresh fruit dessert tray. You can even use this as part of a cocktail like in my Salted Caramel & Dark Chocolate Sake Frappé.

Makes 1 1/2 cups

1 cup packed brown sugar
5 tablespoons butter
3/4 cup heavy cream
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 tablespoon vanilla essence

Place all the ingredients in a small pot on medium low heat. Stir gently for about 7 to 10 minutes until the mixture thickens.

Remove from the heat and allow to cool for about 10 minutes before using or storing in a glass container. You can keep this in the refrigerator for up to several weeks.
