FarmHouse Fresh Sweet Cream Body Milk
Best Body Moisturizer Under $30
If you aren’t already familiar with the Farm House Fresh brand, you need to get familiar pronto. As their name suggests, these fragrance-free skincare products are made with ingredients found on a farm- fresh strawberries and the like. Their ethos strikes a vital chord with me given my obsession with discovering and using good-for-you skincare with as few (preferably zero) harmful chemicals as possible.
Anyone who knows me personally knows that I’m also obsessed with having always silky soft skin one hundred percent of the time. Friends accidentally brush their fingers against my arm at get-togethers and remark on how incredibly soft my skin is. What’s my secret? Well of course healthy eating and drinking plenty of water is part of it but as crucial as a healthy diet is, that alone cannot guarantee supple, soft skin from head to toe.
One of my best-kept secrets is Farm House Fresh’s Sweet Cream Body Milk, a paraben and sulfate free body moisturizer. Infused with vitamin E rich rice bran oil, sweet almond oil, jojoba seed oil, avocado oil and sesame oil, this non-greasy moisturizer packs a potent blend of antioxidants and proteins including vitamins B1, B2, A, lecithin and fatty acids.
The simple breakdown on all these ingredients? This is a moisturizer that is powerful enough for people with dry skin but gentle enough for those suffering from hyper-sensitivity or eczema.
It comes in either a glass bottle reminiscent of the days when milk was delivered fresh from the farm or in a glass cruet that evokes an era when women’s femininity is celebrated instead of being shoved under a corporate rug. This milky-white moisturizer has a consistency like liquid yogurt (Kefir, to be exact, for those of you familiar with yogurt drinks) with a gentle scent of warm milk infused with almond essence, (the latter of which makes an amazing late-night beverage for insomniacs).
Is it comforting to slather on a body moisturizer that looks, smells and is made of many of the same ingredients that I ingest through food and drink? That’s a resounding yes. If you’ve kept up with the “green skincare” movement of late, you’ll know that much of what we put on externally can and does end up getting absorbed into the bloodstream. If you wouldn’t eat or drink a particular chemical, why would you want it wreaking havoc in your blood?
After a warm shower or bath, you’ll want to lightly dab your body with a towel without completely drying off, and then slowly smooth the Sweet Cream Body Milk from your neck all the way down to your feet. Take a moment to breathe in that delicious, subtle cream aroma, knowing that you’re doing good for your skin.
And if you’re having a bad day at work, just sniff your arm and that lingering scent will take you back to the good old days when life was simply sweet.
Available in 10 oz. glass jar or cruet at US $26.
