Tropical Fruit with Sugar Salt Dip- Asian Fruit Desserts
Not big on heavy sweets and chocolates, Asian desserts have a large spotlight on fresh fruits whether in baked goods or in their raw form. This recipe is so easy it’s error-proof. Don’t be fooled by the simplicity though. The combination of fresh tropical fruits and the sugar salt dipping “sauce” have complex layers of flavors and tones. Not to mention that this has got to be one of the healthiest desserts ever! End a heavy meal of curries or fried foods with this very light and refreshing dessert.
Serves 4 to 6
2 tablespoons sugar
3/4 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon ground red chili powder
Assortment of fresh tropical fruits- (use any fruit you like) guava, pineapple, mango, starfruit, green apple, peach, chopped into bite-sized pieces (This dry dip works well with any fruit that has a tart undertone).
In a small bowl, mix the sugar, salt and chili powder thoroughly. Arrange fruits on a serving platter and serve with the dry dip.
