Noodles are my absolute favorite food in the world and this is a dish that combines the best of everything- noodles, garlic and sweet soy sauce. Sweet garlic noodles are a great accompaniment to any seafood or meat main course, particularly as a side dish to stir-fries. This is an easy and quick noodle recipe that will leave family and friends begging for more so make sure to have extra on hand. You can also refrigerate for several days as leftovers and it tastes better with each passing day.

Serves 5

Ingredients
12 ounces dry vegetable noodles or egg noodles
1/2 cup vegetable oil
20 cloves garlic, minced
1/2 large red onion, finely diced
1/2 cup soy sauce
1/2 cup sweet soy sauce
2 teaspoons paprika
2 teaspoons freshly ground black pepper
1 teaspoon sesame seeds
2 teaspoons chili (cayenne) powder (optional)
Chopped cilantro to garnish

Method
In a medium sized pot, bring water to a vigorous boil. Cook the noodles for approximately 2-3 minutes until al dente; drain and set aside.
In a wok, heat the oil on high heat. Sauté the garlic and onion until translucent and golden brown for just about 2 to 3 minutes.
Turn the heat down to medium and add noodles; toss thoroughly. Remove from the heat.

Add in the soy sauce, sweet soy sauce, paprika, pepper, seeds and chili powder. Toss the noodles thoroughly until well mixed; if the noodles stick together, add a few more tablespoons of oil and toss again. Garnish with chopped cilantro.
